I saw a hypnotist.

Quick Spin:

  • The power of the subconscious
  • What it was like being hypnotized
  • The breakthough I had in the session

♟️ MY TURN:

A few weeks ago, I did a session with a hypnotist.

No, I didn’t flap my arms like a chicken or think the floor is lava.

But I did have a huge breakthrough.

And I want to tell you about it.

First of all…WHY did I do this?

Preparing for my book tour.....I needed to get in the right head space because there are times when I still operate from my subconscious.

I've been struggling a lot this year with a feeling like I have a foot in two worlds:

1) Being a marketer that helps people build brands, businesses and portfolio careers

2) Becoming an author, keynote speaker and podcast host

So when I met Kyra Yang and she explained she uses hypnotism to help people reprogram their subconscious to reach peak performance and drop burnout, I was ready.

Many of us are operating from below the surface.

The subconscious mind stores the limiting beliefs that cause you to self-sabotage:

  • overthinking
  • worrying
  • procrastination
  • negative self talk
  • burnout
  • stress
  • and more..

So if you keep repeating cycles sabotaging your success, you have to go BACK to the origin.

Where did you FIRST make the choice to believe these things?

But most of us don't consciously remember those moments.

They likely happened before the age of 7.

They are living in our subconscious.

And that's where hypnotism comes in.

Hypnosis is not about losing control - it is in fact, the opposite.

Hypnosis is training your mind to be in complete control of your mind, emotional state and ultimately your choices and behaviors that determine your reality.

Kyra works with Fortune 500 CEOs and millionaires to help them unlock their limiting beliefs, to enhance their edge, performance while reprogramming their subconscious.

In our initial conversation Kyra helped me to understand a bit of brain math.

The brain can ONLY process 128 bits per second.

But in every second, we are being inundated with MILLIONS of inputs.

So if we use all that brain power to think about the negative things (what I could be doing better, what could go wrong)......

we aren’t freeing up ANY space for thinking about what could go right!

Not to mention, flow states, creativity, motivation, focus, and optimism … all the intangible psychological resources required for sustainable success.

What was the session like:

It was a 5 hour session on Zoom that felt like 10 years of therapy. I was completely aware the entire time but in a deep state of relaxation.

We went through Mental Model Mapping before we started the reprogramming.

Some of the things I worked on….

Where did I first make the decision that:

  • I was too much and needed to make myself smaller?
  • I was all alone?
  • I was difficult to love?

Then she brought me to a deeper state of relaxation and had me close my eyes.

The things she was saying allowed me to go back in time and watch the moments I made the decisions that I was too much, all alone, difficult to love.

And then we went in and made a different choice.

My breakthrough:

It sounds wild but it worked.

Things I've been stressing about are no longer affecting me.

I look at them with complete objectiveness today.

  • I'm not too much.
  • I'm not alone.
  • I'm worthy and easy to love.

So when something comes up that (based on the previous decisions from my past) I would normally operate from a place of people pleasing......

I don't.

Because I'm now reprogrammed based on a different original decision.

I'm more confident and clear on the direction I want to go and find myself noticing more opportunities and taking action on them because I'm clear on the direction.

It's wild what happens when you get to the root of the narratives.

♟️ YOUR TURN:

First of all, if you are repeating patterns or looking to reprogram some of your limiting beliefs to break through to your next level of success, I highly recommend booking a call with Kyra.

Second, I think it's important to spend some time journaling and asking yourself what is the origin of the things we think about ourselves.

Chances are.......

they were given to us long before we were aware and you have the power to write a new empowering narrative, to create the life you know you deserve.

So now I say (without feeling like I'm too much).....
