It's Happening - 6 more days!

↓

Hey friends,

The countdown is on.

In just six days, my book TOXIC GRIT: How to have it all and (actually) love what you have will be officially out in the world, and I’m both excited and nervous to finally share it with you all.

I’m currently in NYC and doing a bit of reflection this morning.

It’s been an intense few years bringing this book to life.

What started as an exploration into the concept of ambition after a brutal divorce left me supporting myself with 3 kids under the age of 4 at the height of my career, eventually turned into something much bigger:

a realization that so many people struggle to reconcile ambition with contentment.

I’ve always believed in the power of intention when it comes to ambition.

It’s not just about pushing harder, faster, and more…..it’s about being intentional with where you pour your energy and making sure all characters that make up the movie of your life are getting screen time.

TOXIC GRIT is a guide to living an ambitious life without the cost of sacrificing your well-being, your relationships, your joy, your pleasure or your sanity.

The response from everyone who’s been following the journey, reading the advanced reader copies, or giving feedback has been incredible. Many of you have shared stories of how this book resonates with you and your own struggles with the desire to have it all AND love what you have.

It means the world to me.

If you missed it, TOXIC GRIT is available for preorder.

We’re pushing to hit as many preorders as we can before the launch (did you know that the preorders dictate a ton of placements in stores, libraries, etc).

Also - if you preorder, you’re going to get some incredible bonuses:

  • The Toxic Grit companion workbook
  • The secret bonus chapter
  • An invitation to a live author chat the week of launch!

I’ve learned a lot through this process, not just about the importance of understanding how ambition works but also about the journey itself.

Here are a few things I’ve learned while writing this book that I hope resonate with you as well:

1. Perfectionism is an obstacle, not a strength.

Don’t let the need for everything to be "just right" stop you from starting. Starting, even in its rough form, is what will get you to where you need to go. The first draft of this book is FAR from where it ended up. Trust me, ask my editor. Improvement is the goal, not perfection.

2. Balance is a myth, but intentional imbalance is the goal.

You can’t have everything perfectly balanced at once. Sometimes, you need to lean into one area of your life more than another but the key is doing so intentionally, knowing you can rebalance when the time is right. For the past 2 years I softened enough to find love, enjoy domestic life and being a mom. For the last few months I’ve been working harder than ever to bring this book to life knowing I will be rotating the leading characters in my movie as the holidays hit and I prepare for my wedding in February.

3. Embrace the process, not just the outcome.

It’s easy to get fixated on the end goal. I had a mini breakdown the other day about our preorder numbers and how far we are from hitting any kind of bestseller lists. But I've reminded myself over and over again, this is about the impact, not the outcome. Even if I help just a few people alleviate some guilt in their life, it was worth it.

Ok....let's wrap this gush fest up.

I’ve been incredibly lucky to have this amazing community that has supported me every step of the way.

Whether you've been here since the early days (divorce, moving out of NYC, raising 3 little kids while building House of Wise) or just recently found me, thank you.

You’ve made all of this possible, and I’m so grateful.

Now, if you haven’t preordered TOXIC GRIT yet, I’d love for you to consider doing so. Every preorder helps make this launch even bigger, and it’ll give you access to some special bonuses when you save your receipt.

To celebrate the upcoming launch, I’ve been reflecting on what I really want you to take away from this book.....

There is no one-dimensional success in life .

This book will help you identify the different characters that make up the movie of your life and give you the tools needed to prioritize and release the guilt that comes from not being able to do it all.

So if you're ready to stop chasing toxic hustle and start living a more intentional, ambitious life, I can’t wait for you to dive into TOXIC GRIT.

Thank you again for being part of this journey.

I can't wait for you to read it.

6 MORE DAYS!

Best,
Amanda Goetz
