The creator “loop” nobody escapes​
- How I’m approaching LinkedIn now that I’m in student mode
- The system I use to grow on LinkedIn without being glued to LinkedIn (yes, this is where Taplio comes in)

In case you missed it, I shared last week that I’m shifting into student mode this year.
I believe everything is a loop, not a ladder.
And every social media creator I’ve ever known follows the same loop:
- Cringe – “Why am I doing this? No one cares.”
- Dopamine – A post hits. You get followers. You think, “Oh…this might actually work.”
- Rhythm – You find your stride. Content pillars, consistency, comments.
- Growth – Opportunities, leads, podcast invites, revenue. It’s fun.
- Back to Cringe – You feel overexposed. You question everything. “Why am I doing this? No one cares.”
It’s important to know the loop exists and to follow the seasons.
Confession: I’m currently in stage 5 of the loop.
I stepped back from social media a bit in December and January because (if I’m being totally honest).....I was sick of talking about myself and genuinely icked out by creating content.
But this is just a stop on the creator express and we have to deliberately choose to NOT GET OFF THE TRAIN.
We know that building a personal brand opens doors.
It increases your luck surface area.
It keeps you top of mind.
So whenever I have a loss of motivation to post online so I wanted to share my strategy for getting myself past this part of the cycle.
The real problem isn’t LinkedIn. It’s how we use it.
Most of us have two modes with social:
- All in: Scrolling, refreshing, obsessing over notifications, tweaking every line of a post.
- All out: Deleting the app, going silent for weeks, ghosting the platform completely.
Neither is sustainable if you’re trying to build a business or personal brand.
What I actually want is:
- A consistent presence
- Content that is written by me
- Real engagement with people I care about
without the endless doom-scroll or hours of creating content.
This is where I had to stop treating LinkedIn like an app and start treating it like…a gym.
Stick with me….I promise.
I’m a former ACE certified personal trainer.
And a phrase we were always taught: 45 mins with a plan > 2 hours without.
You don’t need to live at the gym to hit your goals.

You do need to go in with a plan, do the work, and leave.
So today I’m giving you my “back on track” LinkedIn workout.

How I grow on LinkedIn w/o being online 24/7
Here’s the 4 step system I use. :
- I batch my content when my brain is fresh.
- I schedule two weeks of content in one sitting.
- I engage from a focused dashboard instead of the feed.
- Then I close the tab and go live my actual life.

My 60-minute Routine
Once a week I block 60 minutes on my calendar called “LinkedIn Time”
Inside that block, my whole workflow lives inside Taplio:
1. Get ideas without scrolling
Instead of wandering the feed hoping inspiration strikes, I use Taplio’s content inspiration + AI tools to see:
- What’s performing well in my niche
- Prompts based on my past posts
- Ideas I can tweak into my voice
This helps me avoid rabbit holes.

2. Draft posts fast (that still sound like me)​

​I’ll drop in:
- A quick thought from my Notes
- A paragraph from a recent newsletter
- A story I want to tell
​Taplio helps me turn it into LinkedIn-ready posts that keep my tone and rhythm, and I edit them like I would any draft.
I aim for 5–10 posts in one sitting. It also helps to have my weekly rhythm for LinkedIn.
Monday → Teach something (a how-to post)
Tuesday → Teach something (a how-to post)
Wednesday → Tease my newsletter
Thursday → Post my newsletter
Friday → Inspiration post

3. Queue & schedule everything
Once the posts feel good, I drop them into my schedule.

This means:
- LinkedIn is showing up even when I’m on a plane, with my kids, or deep in CMO work.
- I’m not waking up thinking, “Crap, I need to post something today.”
4. Engage without the time suck
Engagement is where people usually lose hours.

- Comments I haven’t replied to yet
- People who have recently engaged with me
- Posts from people I actually want to build relationships with
I’ll spend 10–15 minutes:
- Replying to comments (which the algorithm loves)
- Leaving thoughtful comments on a handful of posts from my “Daily 20 list”
All from one place.
No more doom scrolling.

5. Close the tab and walk away
This might be the most important step.
When the block is done, LinkedIn is done.
I can go back to being a student. A founder. A fiancé. A mom.
An offline human.

Why this matters (especially if you’re tired of being “on”)
If you’re a solopreneur, creator, or executive, here’s the truth:
- LinkedIn is one of the highest-leverage channels for opportunities,
- but social media in general can be one of the highest-drain activities.
You don’t need another platform to be addicted to.
​
You need a system that lets you:
- Show up consistently
- Build real relationships
- Protect your energy
For me, that looks like a couple blocks a week in Taplio instead of hours on the app.
You can still grow online without being online all the time.
And honestly?
That might be the only version that’s sustainable for the long game.
